scholar. Jeremiah announced the time very clearly: doom time. The nuclear threat for the twentieth century is not unlike the Babylonian threat for Judah. Nuclear warheads threaten more massive destruction than does an army of foot soldiers, to be sure. And nuclear war would likely be global rather than limited to a nation or two, but the end results would be identical: devastation, destruction, death.
